Welcome to NutriCheck - The Abbott Nutrition Online Nutrient Calculator
Abbott Nutrition is committed to continuing to support Healthcare Professionals with tools and resources to assist in managing the nutritional needs of your patients.
Nutricheck is a useful online tool for Healthcare Professionals to analyse the micronutrients provided by specific formulas and feeding regimens against the Nutrient Reference Values (NRV) for Australia and New Zealand as recommended by the National Health and Medical Research Council. NutriCheck can be used as a guide to help ensure your patients are meeting their specific nutritional requirements.
For simplicity we have used the traffic light system as a colour code to allow easy identification at a glance on whether your patients are meeting their nutritional requirements in the prescribed volume. The nutrients will be colour coded as dark green when greater than or equal to 100% of the recommended dietary intake (RDI) ) or adequate intake (AI) is achieved; light green when greater than or equal to 100% of the estimated average requirement (EAR) is achieved, orange if less than 100% of the RDI or AI is achieved.
For individual patients, assess macronutrient intake according to the requirements outlined in the Nutrient Reference Values.

Nutrient Reference Values for Australia and NZ
Results
- 100% RDI/AI met - indicates the nutrient intake from the formula higher than Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI).
- 100% EAR met - indicates the nutrient intake from the formula higher than Estimated Average Requirement (EAR) (or 77% Adequate Intake, as a proxy of EAR when it is not established).
- Less than 100% RDI/AI met - indicates the nutrient intake from the formula lower than EAR, which may increase the risk of nutrient inadequacy if used for long-term.
The product may not provide 100 percent of the electrolytes (Sodium, Potassium, and Chloride) for all patients. They may receive electrolytes through IV infusion or other sources.
Selection of products should be determined by a healthcare professional according to the patient’s medical condition and nutritional needs.

NOTE: the vitamin and mineral levels of the Abbott feeds are designed to meet FSMP (Food for Special Medical Purposes) regulations.
The “complete in volumes” are a guide based on age, gender and RDI/AI as per Nutrient Reference Values for Australia and New Zealand. National Health and Medical Research Council 2005.
Healthcare professionals are to calculate the energy and macronutrient requirements for the patient taking into consideration a range of factors including activity level and medical conditions. The prescribed volume needs to be tailored to the specific clinical conditions of the patient.
Based on the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) Food for Special Medical Purposes Standard 2.9.5, all of Abbott Nutrition products used in the Nutricheck Nutrient Calculator are suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition.
